Your tour guide will meet you at the Park entrance located at the village of Cahuita (Playa Blanca sector) at 8:30 a.m. in front of the small bridge near the reception. If you use GPS you can indicate National Park Hotel Restaurant Cahuita.
There will be several private parkings (3000 colones per day, 7$ aprox), you can also park for free on the side of the road.
The guided visit lasts approximately 2 hours and covers 1.5 km.
Your guide will explain the interactions between plants and animals and show you how to find sloths, snakes and other animals that go unnoticed. The path is mostly under the shade of trees.
Entry to the park is a voluntary donation that must be made upon entering the park. We recommend $5 per person.
It is not allowed to snorkel from the beach, you would have to go to the coral reefs with a boat and a captain-guide, if you´re interested in this, check out our snorkeling tour also!
If you enjoy bigger hikes, after the tour you can hike the entire park on your own from one entrance to the other. Its around 8 km. The trail is flat, mostly in the shade, partly directly on the beach due to erosion. The landscapes are magnificent, the nature is lush. If you would like a guide to come along throughout the whole hike, this is possible too and the price will depend on the number of participants.
